Middle School Intermediate Band

1. Please prepare the “Basic Warm Ups for Band”. You should know how to play all of the

Concert Major scales listed in “Basic Warm Ups”. You should also learn how to play the

chorales listed that reflect the major scales learned.

2. Practice writing in counts on music you are learning. During the exam you will be given

a selection of music for you to write the correct down beats above the measures.

Grade Band

1. Please be able to play, read, and identify the first 5 notes introduced to you in “Standard

of Excellence, Book I” found on pages 1-9. Please be able to play all of the exercises on

pages 8 & 9; alone and with a partner.
