13. SECURITY GUIDANCE. The security classification guidance needed for this effort is identified below. If any difficulty is encountered in applying this guidance or if any other contributing factor indicates a
need for changes in this guidance, the contractor is authorized and encouraged to provide recommended changes: to challenge the guidance or classification assigned to any information or material furnished
or generated under this contract; and to submit any questions for interpretation of this guidance to the official identified below. Pending final decision, the information involved shall be handled and protected at
the highest level of classification assigned or recommended. (Fill in as appropriate for the classified effort. Attach, or forward under separate correspondence, any document/guides/extracts referenced herein.
Add additional pages as needed to provide complete guidance.)
Classified work on this contract will only be performed at Facilities that have been properly approved by the LaRC Program Security Officer (PSO).
Security classification guidance will be provided by the responsible NASA official issuing the classified task associated with this contract. Items 11(J)
will be considered; however, no monies will be spent without prior approval from the Contracting Officer and the Program Security Officer (PSO).
Individuals supporting this contract must be eligible for a Secret security clearance. The investigation being used to grant this clearance must be within
five years of the request. Items 10.f. Access to SAR information will be granted on a case by case basis. The PSO will review and approve all requests
for access prior to any actions being taken under this contract.
Item 10(j) FOUO information provided under this contract shall be safeguarded as specified as described in DoDM 5200.01-V4, “Controlled
Unclassified Information” Enclosure 3, (Dated) February 24, 2012. Item 10(k) Sensitive But Unclassified information provided under this contract shall
be safeguarded as specified as described in NASA Interim Directive (NPR-1600.1) NM 1600-55 “Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) Controlled
Information.
The contractor Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) shall certify the security clearance status of all employees
supporting this contract via standard approved systems and provide the LaRC PSO with a visit request submitted annually or as required by PSO and/or
Center Personnel Security Office. Visit Request content will be as defined in DoD 5220.22 (NISPOM) Section 6-104 to include city of birth, level of
clearance, date of issue, investigation type, and date completed.
The prime contractor shall provide copies of any DD Form 254’s issued to sub-contractors, relevant to the performance of classified tasks associated with
this contract to the PSO for review and approval prior to issuing.

Pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13526 as amended and incorporated into NASA directives, additional security requirements for all task covered by
item 10(f) are identified in the NASA Special Access Program Guide Dated 16 Sep 08 as well as the Joint Air Force, Army, and Navy regulations
(JAFAN) 6/3, 6/4, and 6/9.
