International Stock Food (ISF)
SALES AGENT APPLICATION
THE COMPANY
International Stock Food (ISF) is a 100% Canadian owned Company. ISF manufactures vitamin and mineral supplements, and
other specialized livestock and poultry feed related products. ISF also distributes a hay/alfalfa haylage/corn silage preservative
named Silo-Guard II in both dry granular and liquid forms. Applicators used for applying Silo Guard II products are available
and are referred to as Gandy, Delaware and Valmar applicators.
SUMMARY OF EXPECTATIONS OF AN ISF SALES AGENT OR DEALER
General
An ISF agent must acquaint themselves with ISF products and their use. Agents must also be able to present the proper
products to ISF customers in a timely organized fashion. Agents must organize themselves to make the most effective use of
their time and resources to best serve ISF customers and prospects. ISF agents must not sell products that are competition to
the ISF line without written approval from ISF.
Customer Sales, Invoicing
An ISF agent’s responsibilities include taking customer orders, delivering the order to the customer, invoicing and collecting
the correct amount of money for the order. A monthly report must be sent in to the ISF Head Office together with all cheques,
invoices, transfers, credits, etc., for the period chosen along with an accurate and up to date inventory count of products and
equipment that the ISF agent has in stock. When filling out the invoice, the ISF agent must ensure that the correct information
is written on the proper paperwork and is legible. Items that must be included are the customer number, the customer’s name
and address, as well as the proper description and amount of the products or items that have been sold. Canadian Feed
Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) protocols require that ISF as
well as its agents be able to do a 100% recall of all products, therefore lot numbers must be written beside all products that
have been sold. This is very important.
REMEMBER that we must be able to recall all products that are shipped so an agent must be able to locate each bag that they
have sold after they have received it from ISF.
Inventory
Inventory must be stored in a clean, dry and secure environment. If storing Liquid Silo Guard II it is critical that this product
be kept in an area that will not freeze (not below 40˚F or 5˚C). Agent’s inventory location should be easy to access so
unloading orders will not be a problem. ISF inventory must be kept current (preferably under six months old) and Silo Guard
II products under two (2) years old. Product should be stored in a way that allows for easy inventory counting and stock
rotation. Agents are also required to have insurance coverage on ISF inventory, in case of fire, flood, theft, etc... This
insurance should be payable to ISF in case of a loss. ISF inventory is the agent’s responsibility until payment has been
received or delivery has been made to the customer.
Product Transfer
Every transfer of product done between the ISF Sales Manager and/or ISF agent should be filled out in the same manner as if
you were making out an order to a customer. This includes listing the lot numbers and checking off the transfer box.
