Opt Out Application Form
Membership of the Plan is not a compulsory part of employment with the Company. You
can Opt Out at any time.
You are required to give the Trustees and the Company 2 month’s written notice of your
BAE Systems Pension Scheme: DC Retirement Plan. After this notice period, you will be
treated as if you had left service.
The decision to Opt Out is yours alone. We are not permitted by law to give financial
advice. You may wish to take independent financial advice before making a decision.

You will lose the benefit of the Company’s contributions into your DC Account.
You will lose the lump sum death benefit of six times salary that would be paid to
your beneficiaries in you died in service.
You will lose the partial income protection if you have to stop working because of ill
health.
If you are in SMART Pensions, you will lose the benefit of the SMART Pensions
savings in your pay.
If you change your mind, re-entry will require the specific permission of your
employer and the Trustees. Evidence of good health may be required and certain
benefits may be restricted. If you are permitted re-entry, you will only be able to join
the scheme that is open to new entrants.
