ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

Under South Carolina law, Section 59-63-31, the school district may admit a student who lives in

the district provided that the student meets one of the following criteria.

• lives with his/her parent.

• lives with his/her legal guardian Note: Temporary custody is not considered legal guardianship

unless by court order.

• is homeless or is a child of a homeless individual, as defined in Public Law 100-77.

• is emancipated.

• lives in a residential community-based care facility licensed by the South Carolina Department

of Social Services or operated by the South Carolina Department of Social Services or the South

Carolina Department of Youth Services.

You will need the following items to enroll your child(ren) in our district:

Photo ID of Parent(s)



Proof of Residency: 2 items required (e.g. electric bill, gas bill, water bill, home telephone bill or



lease/rental agreement that includes your name and current address)



Student’s Birth Certificate or Other Proof of Birth



Student’s Social Security Card (optional)



Student’s Immunization Record

Withdrawal Form from Previous School



Latest Report Card and/or Unofficial Transcript



Special Services Documents (IEP if applicable)



Court Documents, if applicable (Proof of Custody, Affidavit, Divorce Decree,

DSS Placement Papers, Foster Care, etc.)

If all items are not provided at the time of enrollment, your child’s enrollment approval could possibly be delayed.
