INSTRUCTIONS:
Use the Sight Words Tracking List to help your student master each of the Sight Words! Use pencil or
erasable pen. Beginning with the first word, determine if your student can already read and spell the
word. If so, check the boxes in the first 2 columns, plus the MASTERY column, and move on to the
next word. When working on a word your student hasn't mastered yet, as soon as he or she can spell
it correctly, write the date in the DATE 1 column. At the next study session, if your student can spell the
word correctly again, wriite down that day's date. If not, erase the date under Date 1 and start again
with that word. Do the same thing at the third study session. A sight word is MASTERED when your
student has spelled it correctly for three consecutive study sessions! When that happens, put a check
(or star!) in the MASTERY column! Have fun!
