Dear Parents of Children at First Lutheran Church –
Welcome to a new Sunday School year! We are so excited to welcome you and

introduce everyone to the new education year. During the final part of the hour,
children will go to their classroom areas for a time to meet teachers and have a
welcome activity.
Regular classroom locations are as follows:

Road level. Parents stay with their child(ren) for all classes.
4 & 5 year olds meet in the Space to Grow room on the London Road level.
rd
Grades 1 & 2 meet in room 301 on the 3
floor
Grades 3 -5 meet in the basement classrooms
th
Grades 6-8 meet in the basement Youth Room. If you have a 6
grader, a separate
mailing is sent from Deb Westerberg, Director of Youth & Family Ministry.
Enclosed is a Sunday School registration form, which can be used for all children in
your family. Forms can be mailed to the church office, dropped off at the Welcome
Desk, or brought to Sunday School. For planning purposes it is helpful to have the
forms completed and sent ahead of time.
For Grades 1-5 we continue with the Faith Quest Rotation Sunday School, in which
children take an in-depth look at a Bible story for 3-4 weeks. Each week they
explore the story in a different “workshop” during small group time. The workshops
will be activities that might include art, science, games, drama, video, or cooking.
The lesson rotation schedule will be handed out at your child’s Sunday School room.
Parent involvement as workshop leaders or assisting as a shepherd is encouraged and
welcomed!
We are continuing the sign-in/out system for the safety of our children. Our
church building is a wonderful place to gather for worship and education, but it is
also challenging as we have activities happening on many levels. To ensure children
are safe when coming to and leaving our classrooms, we ask that parents or another
adult sign each child in and out of the classroom each week. Your child’s teacher
