NYSSA — The Drug Enforcement Administration is again teaming

up with local law enforcement agencies for a prescription drug take-

back day Saturday.

The take-back will be to help take back prescription drugs, to prevent

pill abuse and theft, by cleaning out homes of potentially dangerous

expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

For those wishing to take back their medication, the service is free

and anonymous, no questions asked.

“People don’t have a place to take prescriptions they are not longer

using,” Nyssa Police Chief Rick Stokoe said. “It is not a good idea to

flush them down the toilet, it will leach back into the water.”

One of the requirements for the take back, is the DEA and local

agencies are not equipped to handle needles, and other sharp objects,

or liquids.
