Math Jeopardy Game Review
3-18-10
Lesson Plan (Shortened)
Lesson: Math Jeopardy Review
Length: 40 minutes
Academic Standard(s):
Math 2.5.10, 2.5.9, 2.5.11
Assessment: Students will work in their learning clubs to solve problems
from the Jeopardy power point review game.
Advance Preparation by Teacher: Teacher will need to have made up
power point with appropriate jeopardy categories and questions on it.
Procedure:
Introduction/Motivation: Who remembers last time we played
Jeopardy? What were some of the rules we used during that game? Well
today, we are going to play again and are going to review and refresh our
memories on many different things we learned in math over the past few
weeks.
Step by Step Plan:
1. Review rules of game with students. Each team will get one dry erase
board, one marker, and one sock to act as an eraser. The group leader will
begin by being the one to write down the groups answer to hold it up.
Remind them that it is a TEAM game and that everyone has to help
answer the question, not just the writer. Have them keep their boards held
up in the air until you have verified their answer. After each turn, the
person that was writing will pass the board, maker and eraser to the person
on their right.
2.Select a learning club to begin. Let them choose their category and their
point value. Read the question to them, and give each group time to
answer the question. For each group that got the answer correct, they get
one point. Do not worry about the point values on the game. Each group
only gets one point per correct answer.
3. Continue the game, reminding students of rules and guidelines as
needed.
