A Family Newsletter
Greetings, Family!
Many living things on Earth live in water. In our next unit,
“Aquarium Habitats,” our science class will be studying different
kinds of freshwater organisms. We will explore how these organisms
survive in their watery environment, and also investigate relationships
among living things. In addition, students will learn about fossils and
water pollution.
You can make science come alive for your child in and around your
home. Do you see any examples of water pollution? How might the
pollution affect living things? You can also have your child look in
magazines or newspapers, and watch the news, for stories about
aquatic organisms and how they are affected by human activities.
For the hands-on activities in this module, we are collecting the
items listed below. Can you donate any of these items? If so, we need
to receive your donated materials by
.
granulated sugar
liquid soap
lemon juice
paper towels
vinegar
Finally, we could use your help in the classroom. Do you or other
family members have any particular interest or special experience with
this topic? Would you be able to help with the activities? If so, please
fill out the form below and have your student return it to class.
Thank you very much for your help!
