Letter to Family

Dear Family,

I would like you to involve your child in an activity that involves the number

of people in your family. I’d like you and your child to make a picture of your

family, grouping the adults together and the children together. Help your child

count the number of adults and the number of children separately. Then help

your child add the two numbers to find the total number of people in your

family. Please send this paper to school with your child.

In class I will pair your child with another child, and they will talk about the

number of people in their families.
