Dear Family,

Our class is studying subtraction. I'd like you to do an activity with your child

while you are reading a book or watching television. Ask them to find an

example of subtraction. For example, there might be 5 people in a room

and 2 people leave, so 3 people are left. You can help by giving them some

examples that you find. After they have found an example, ask them to draw

a picture of what they saw that showed subtraction. I will have the children

share their pictures in class.
