TAXATION REVENUE STATISTICS – SEPTEMBER 2005
Taxable Sales Summary – September 2005
Statewide taxable sales for September 2005 of $4,080,691,439 represents a 9.8% increase over
September 2004, and a 12% increase for the three months of fiscal year 2006. The largest increases
in statewide taxable sales for September were realized by Miscellaneous Retail, up 16.1%; Wholesale
Trade, up 24.4%; Eating and Drinking Places, up 8.9%; Apparel and Accessory Stores, up 17.4%; and
Building Materials and Hardware, up 9.4%..
The following major sales indicators represent changes in Nevada’s economic activity for September
2005 compared to September 2004:

Only Esmeralda and Storey Counties showed a decrease in taxable sales compared to September
2004.
Revenue Collections from Sales and Use Taxes – September 2005
Gross revenue collections from sales and use taxes amounted to $304,411,258 for September 2005
which represents an 11.14% increase compared to September 2004 and an 11.76% increase for three
months of fiscal year 2006.
Compared to the May 2005 Economic Forum projections, the General Fund portion of the sales and
use taxes is 1.05% or $9.8 million above their forecast for fiscal year 2006.
