Financial Aid Checklist
***Summer 2015 Financial Aid Application***
To be eligible for summer 2015 financial aid, a student must:
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2014‐2015
academic year by May 4, 2015.
Submit an SCSU Summer 2015 Financial Aid Application by May 4, 2015. (Required for
both financial aid and alternative loans.)
Be officially accepted by Undergraduate Admissions or the School of Graduate Studies
as a matriculated student.
Register and maintain at least half‐time enrollment during one or more of the summer
sessions. (Half‐time enrollment is 6 credits for undergraduate students and 4.5 credits
for graduate students.)
Register at least half‐time by May 20, 2015.
Maintain satisfactory academic progress. (Go to for
more information.)
Review your BannerWeb account for additional requirements.
Complete the study abroad form, if applicable.
Please Note:
Budget ahead and have alternative funding available for costs not covered by financial aid and
expenses not billed directly by the university. (Expenses not billed directly by the university
include books, supplies, and off‐campus room and board.)
Summer 2015 is considered part of the 2014‐2015 academic year. Therefore, if you have
borrowed the maximum allowable loan amount for your grade level during fall 2014 and spring
2015, you are not eligible for a Direct Loan (subsidized and/or unsubsidized) for the summer.
Students who intend to apply for an alternative loan are required to complete our Summer
2015 Financial Aid Application by May 4, 2015.
If the number of credits for which you registered changes, your financial aid and/or
alternative loan may be adjusted or canceled accordingly. This could result in an outstanding
bill with the university.
