Article 78 of the UFC is revised by the addition of Section 7801.5, which reads: “7801.5 Retail sale of salable
fireworks. Retail sales of salable fireworks as described in AS 18.72 must be made in accordance with this section.
7801.5.1 Dedicated structure or stand. Salable fireworks may be sold only from a dedicated structure or stand that
has a minimum of two exits meeting Chapter 10 of the UBC. Exception: Structure meeting the criteria of a group
H-1 occupancy as established by the UBC are exempt from the requirements of 7801.5.1
A DRAWING OF THE STAND MUST BE INCLUDED WITH THE PERMIT APPLICATION, INCLUDING
DETAILS OF EXITING AND STORAGE OF ANY EXCESS FIREWORKS.
7801.5.2 Fire Extinguishers. Portable fire extinguishers that meet the criteria of UFC Standard 10-1 shall be provided.

7801.5.3 Placard. Ensure local requirements are specified regarding placards on retail fireworks stands and storage
magazines. Signs prohibiting any smoking or open flame within 50 feet should be prominently displayed.
7801.5.4 Sales. The sale of salable fireworks may not take place within 250 feet of a place of residence or public
assembly.
7801.5.5 Class B dangerous fireworks. Class B dangerous fireworks may not be stored or offered for sale at a retail
sales location.
7801.5.6 Use or discharge. Fireworks of any class may not be used or discharged with 250 feet (76.2 m) of a retail
sales location.
7801.5.7 Right-of-way. Retail sales locations may not be located on a highway or utility right of way.
7801.5.8 Display of permit or license. The retail sales permit or license shall be conspicuously displayed.
7801.5.9 Age of employee. A person under the age of 18 years may not be employed where fireworks are sold or
stored.
7801.5.10 Age of purchase. Fireworks may not be sold to a person under the age of 18 years.
7801.5.11 Prohibition. Fireworks may not be sold to a person who is or appears to be intoxicated or otherwise
chemically impaired.
7801.5.12 Storage. All fireworks must be stored in accordance with the UBC and UFC.
The storage requirements of the fireworks will be determined by the net explosive weight. If the specific weight of
the pyrotechnic composition is not known, 25 percent of the gross weight of the fireworks, including packaging,
will be used to determine the explosive weight for storage purposes.
The distance between an explosive storage magazine and the retail sales stand is determined by the explosive
weight of the material, as determined above. The minimum distances from buildings and property lines are as
follows:

7801.5.13 Permitted sales locations. All salable fireworks must be sold from the location specified in the permit
application.
I have read the fireworks regulations listed above and understand that if I do not abide by these regulations my permit
will be disapproved or revoked.
