BYLAW NO. 2003-MC-13
A BYLAW TO CONTROL STREET AND SIDEWALK OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE TOWN
OF MAPLE CREEK
The Council of the Town of Maple Creek, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as
follows:
1. Obstructing Sidewalk or Street
1.1.No person shall obstruct the free passage of traffic on any sidewalk or
street without first securing a permit from the Town of Maple Creek.
1.2.
Section 1.1 shall not be construed as prohibiting the gathering of individuals on
any street for a lawful purpose so long as the proceedings thereat are
peaceable and orderly, and sufficient space is left both on the sidewalks and
street to accommodate the traffic on the sidewalks and streets
1.3.The Notice of Permit shall be in Form A, attached to and forming part of
this bylaw.
1.4.
Permit shall be valid only during business hours.
1.5.
The notice of permit shall allow the maximum usage of 50% of the sidewalk
from the outside of the existing building.
1.6.
No store articles shall remain on sidewalk after closing hours.
1.7.No person or business shall obstruct within five (5) feet of a fire hydrant.
2. Penalty
A person who violates or fails to comply with any of the provision of the Bylaw is
guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to the penalty provided:
2.1. First infraction of the provisions of this bylaw shall be subject to a fine of Fifty
dollars ($50.00)
2.2. Second and subsequent infraction of the provisions of this bylaw shall be
subject to a fine of One Hundred dollars ($100.00)
3. This bylaw shall come into force and effect on the day that it is approved by
the Council of the Town of Maple Creek.
