NOTE: Although churches are classified as 501(c)(3) organizations, the IRS does not require

that they file for an official designation of 501(c)(3) status. This qualifier is an attempt

to make sure that a church membership does not impose a burden and offers a maximum

protection to the Food Bank. Therefore, it is imperative there is as much documentation

as possible to make sure the church is who and what they say are.
