Dear Friend,
[I showed up at University excited for what God had in store for me. He made his call clear
for me to attend University with my sister, Kaitlyn, who is not a Christian. I was looking
forward to sharing the gospel with her. After my first weekend on campus, though, I
realized that the rest of campus deeply needs Jesus as well.] Thankfully, I have been
involved with a ministry here called
InterVarsity Christian
Fellowship. Through InterVarsity, I
have been equipped to be a witness wherever I am on campus, as well as a leader who has
a positive influence.
InterVarsity is hosting a missions conference at the end of this year called Urbana. At
Urbana, I will join more than 16,000 friends to explore how my gifts, dreams, and calling
meet God’s global mission. Right now he has called me to be on mission at [University]. But
at Urbana, I will learn about his call for the rest of my life: in relationships, in the workplace,
and in missions around the world. Urbana offers many unique opportunities, such as
getting to talk with leaders of over 250 missions organizations.
Urbana is December 27-31, 2015, in St. Louis, Missouri. It will cost around $1,000 total for
me to attend (this includes conference fees, travel, hotel, and food). Would you consider
financially contributing to God’s mission at [University] and in the world? To send a gift,
please make checks payable to [Joe Smith] and mail them to:

Thank you for being a significant part of my life. I appreciate your generosity in helping me
attend Urbana and am excited to share about it with you when I return. If you have any
questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
In Christ,
