Supervisor Checklist
The following checklist contains many of the items that supervisors may wish to discuss with employees
during a support session. This list is not all-inclusive and is meant to provide Seven Hills supervisors with a
variety of topics which may—and in some cases—should be addressed in your employee support sessions.
Please note that some items may not be applicable to your employees and/or some items may only need to
be addressed on a quarterly or annual basis.
General
❑ Employee Check In (How are you?)
❑ Anything employee would like to discuss during session? Add to agenda.
❑ Seven Hills Update—Make employee aware of agency opportunities, committees, events, important
communications
❑ Review accomplishments and successes
Training and Development
❑ Review training grid and develop time lines/schedule for employee to complete necessary trainings
❑ Make employee aware of any upcoming special training/learning opportunities
❑ Discuss career development opportunities
Goals and Objectives
❑ Discuss progress of goals that were developed as part of performance evaluation.  Identify any barriers and
strategies to overcome them.  
❑ Identify desired performance and reinforce (punctuality/attendance, documentation, positive attitude,
quality of supports to individuals, professional boundaries, communication skills, constructive use of time,
organizational skills, productive use of “down time”, etc.)
❑ Identify areas of concern (punctuality/attendance, documentation, inappropriate behavior, quality of supports
to individuals, professional boundaries, cell phone use, computer use, non-productive use of time, etc.)
❑ Specific job duties or new assignments (job description review)
❑ Schedules
❑ Supervision of staff—frequency in home and in office
❑ Staffing/open hours
❑ Communication with supervisor/family regarding schedule, shift changes
❑ Home visits—frequency
Policies and Procedures
❑ Understanding Seven Hills policies and procedures (i.e. cell phone use, break time,
❑ Following Program guidelines
❑ Confidentiality review
❑ Safety
